did you know?

  • On release from prison many women are friendless, with nowhere to go, and little chance of employment. Unfortunately many return to the familiar life of drugs and crime.

Our Staff

PNM consists of five staff members and a dozen volunteers who coordinate our programs and work directly with the women. We are also overseen by an independant Board of Directors.

From left: Laurel, Senior Support Worker; Chelsea, Support Worker; Deb, CEO; Alex, Intern; and Katharine, Volunteer Coordinator.

  • CEO Deb Redford began working with PNM as a volunteer in 2003 before taking up a role as Support Worker.  Deb took over the reins as CEO in 2006.

  • Senior Support Worker Laurel Gore has worked for PNM since 1996, previously spending 10 years with Youth for Christ working with women prisoners and at-risk youth. Laurel is a familiar face inside the prison running regular sports programs and spending time with the women.

  • Volunteer Coordinator Katharine Goschnick works part-time heading up our team of dedicated volunteers, to ensure they have excellent training and on-going support. Katharine joined PNM in February 2007.

  • Chelsea Leatham joined us in December 2008 as our new Support Worker. Chelsea has completed studies in Theology and Social Work and a one-year church internship. She has also worked at an inner-city drop-in centre working with people experiencing homelessness and mental illness.

  • Alex Lynch joined us in October 2008 and is completing an Internship with PNM. She will be learning about all areas of our work, with a special focus on children.  Alex is currently completing a Diploma in Community Welfare at Chisholm Tafe, and has previously worked with young offenders as a volunteer with SLAM.  Alex has also spent several months volunteering in a Thai orphanage.
